SA Law Week 2026

 

SA Law Week is an annual opportunity to learn about how the law affects you every day and where you can get the help you need!

Legal organisations across SA have arranged a state-wide program of events to help anyone in the community learn about the law, explore our justice system and understand pathways to access legal assistance.

We can't wait to see you at one of the events below.

It is a great chance to ask legal questions and find out how we can best support you.

All about ALRM and Court Processes and Programs for Aboriginal People in SA

This information session will provide an introduction to the services offered by Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM), as well as the processes and programs offered by criminal courts for Aboriginal people in South Australia.

Join the Consumer Credit team at Uniting Communities Law Centre at this free educational workshop and learn how to protect yourself.

  • what to do if you (or someone you know) has been scammed.

Young People and the Law: A Panel Discussion

Law Society of South Australia (North Terrace, Adelaide)

What does the law say about social media use? Deepfakes? Cyberbullying? Underage drinking? Vaping? Is a police officer allowed to search you? What do you do if your boss hasn’t paid you enough?

These are just some of the questions that will be examined at this session aimed at informing young people about laws that could affect them, and what they can do if they come into contact with the law.

This event is complimentary and open to the public with limited capacity. Registration is essential.

Book Launch: Paris Nesbit KC - Quixotic Counsel

Adelaide Convention Centre (North Terrace, Adelaide)

As part of SA Law Week 2026, former High Court Justice the Honourable Michael Kirby AC CMG and consultant forensic psychiatrist Dr William Brereton will take part in a candid conversation on mental health in the legal profession.

The evening will also mark the launch of Graeme Loughlin's biography of SA lawyer Paris Nesbit QC (1852-1927), exploring the impact of mental illness on a gifted legal mind.

The formal presentation will be followed by networking and light refreshments.

This event is complimentary and open to the public with limited capacity. Registration is essential.
