Lawyers at the Legal Services Commission are keenly aware of legal needs that may arise following the occurrence of disastrous events, and the need for the provision of timely legal information and advice during the aftermath and recovery period.

The Legal Services Commission employs a legal officer who specialises in disaster-related legal issues. The legal officer can provide advice, targeted information resources and legal education to the community as well as providing support for other Commission lawyers who provide advice and information to the community.

You can seek free legal help to navigate everyday legal problems including insurance claims and disputes, financial hardship, tenancy, and Centrelink matters.
