Where pre-action procedures have been complied with and agreement cannot be reached, or where the matter is exempt from pre-action procedures, parties should file an Initiating Application and a Financial Statementwith details of all financial circumstances.
These documents must be served on the other party, who must then respond with a Response to Initiating an Application and Financial Statement.
Filing fees apply to both an Initiating Application and a Response to Initiating Application.
For the current fees that apply, see the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia's website. Some fees can be reduced or waived (not charged) in certain circumstances.
