SA Law Week returns in 2025

A packed week of community events heralds the return of SA Law Week from this Monday 19 May through to Sunday 25 May.

From the Walk for Justice at Adelaide Oval, to a free Webinar on accessing legal help, and a number of legal pop-up events throughout the city, suburbs and regions, the annual celebration of Law Week is growing year on year.

Legal Services’ CEO Annmarie Lumsden said it was wonderful to see more and more organisations from the legal assistance sector and beyond come on board with SA Law Week.

“Across Australia, Law Week provides an important opportunity to create greater awareness within the community of the legal system, legal rights and pathways for legal assistance,” Ms Lumsden said.

“It’s also an opportunity to raise the profile of the entire legal assistance sector and spotlight the important work being done to provide some of our society’s most vulnerable people with access to justice.

“There continues to be a level of unmet legal need in South Australia and around the country, and that’s why we continue to make the case for greater investment in the legal assistance sector so that people can receive the help they need when legal issues arise.

“We’re delighted to be collaborating with our colleagues from the sector to deliver an exciting program of community events and activities, building on last year’s success.”

Kicking off the week, the team from Legal Services will be launching SA Law Week with a pop-up legal info booth at the Adelaide Railway Station on Monday from 10:00am.

JusticeNet SA’s Walk for Justice takes place on National Pro Bono Day, Tuesday 20 May, which is their major fundraiser for the year, allowing JusticeNet to continue connecting those in need with vital legal support throughout the year.

Other highlights of the 2025 program include:

  • Legal Services, Women’s Legal Service and WestSide Community Lawyers pop-up info session and community BBQ in Whyalla
  • Uniting Communities Law Centre and Legal Services pop-up Legal Chat at Mount Barker
  • The Law Society’s Law Week Movie Night – screening of Australian classic The Castle
