Legal Services has appointed Anna O’Brien as its new Director, Family Law.
Anna brings extensive experience in family law, across both the private sector and her longstanding career at Legal Services. A specialist in child representation, Anna has led the Independent Children’s Lawyer and Care & Protection teams, providing leadership to staff working on a significant number of complex and sensitive matters.
Her background includes court advocacy, staff supervision and mentoring, operational leadership, and responsibility for service delivery. She is highly regarded for the expertise, professionalism, and strong commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families.
Legal Services CEO Annmarie Lumsden said Anna’s strong leadership capability and deep sector knowledge will strengthen the organisation’s capacity to meet growing community need.
“Anna’s experience, judgement, and collaborative approach position her well to lead a division that is expanding its resources and services to meet community needs,” she said.
