Legal Services Commission appoints new head of Civil Law Division

South Australia’s largest legal assistance organisation, the Legal Services Commission, has appointed Alice Rolls to head up its Civil Law Division.

Alice joins Legal Services as Manager, Civil Law, with nearly 20 years’ experience as a commercial litigator, representing clients in a broad range of disputes involving insolvency, professional negligence, breach of contract and trade practices issues, as well as serving as a Principal of LK Law in Adelaide. Alice was instrumental in establishing the Accessible Justice Project while at LK Law in partnership with the University of Adelaide.

Alice’s most recent role was Head of Policy and Strategy at the Australian Pro Bono Centre.

The appointment follows the establishment of Legal Services’ new Civil Law Division.

Legal Services’ Chief Legal Officer Lucinda Byers welcomed Alice as she started in the important role for the organisation.

“Alice brings a real depth of experience to this newly created role, and will provide legal expertise and strategic leadership to the Civil Law Division and its exceptional legal team,” Ms Byers said.

“We’re delighted to have Alice join us at Legal Services, as she’s someone who has demonstrated her genuine passion for enhancing access to justice.”
