SA Law Week 2026 officially begins today, running from Monday 18 May to Sunday 24 May, with a wide range of events and activities taking place across metropolitan and regional South Australia.
Occurring each year, SA Law Week is an important opportunity to highlight the vital role the legal assistance sector plays in the community, strengthen public understanding of the law, and increasing awareness of how and where people can access legal help.
Legal Services CEO Annmarie Lumsden said across South Australia, the legal assistance sector plays a critical role supporting people at key moments in their lives, helping them navigate everyday issues such as housing, employment, debt, family matters and access to essential services.
“SA Law Week shines a light on this important work, while helping the community better understand their rights and the legal support available to them,” Ms Lumsden said.
“Over the next seven days, South Australians will have the chance to engage with the legal system through community events, information sessions and activities designed to help people:
“This week is about making the law more accessible and less intimidating,” Ms Lumsden said.
“This year’s program is focused on reaching a broad and diverse audience and it is hoped that by taking legal information out into the community, people will feel more confident in seeking help early to resolve their legal issues.”
