Legal Services has appointed Beth Midgley as its new Director, Legal Information and Advice.
Beth brings more than two decades of experience across legal, legal policy, and broader policy roles in the private sector, community sector, and all levels of government. Her career reflects a deep commitment to improving the justice system and facilitating access to justice—values that align strongly with the Legal Services’ mission.
Beth has served as Director in the Federal Courts Branch of the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, where she provided strategic legal policy advice. She also led the Secretariat for the Review of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Act 2021, supporting two independent reviewers.
Previously, she was Director, Policy at the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, and held a number of positions in the South Australian Attorney-General’s Department, including Acting Director, Legislative Services.
Legal Services CEO Annmarie Lumsden said Beth’s leadership experience spans legal and multidisciplinary teams, with a strong focus on team culture, innovation, and continuous improvement.
“Beth’s strategic leadership and collaborative approach will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and evolve our services for the South Australian community,” she said.
