The Commission is pleased to announce that Luke Davis (Team Leader, Duty Solicitors, Criminal Law Practice Division) has been appointed a Magistrate.

Luke was admitted to practice in South Australia in 1990. He commenced his career with the Commission in 1991, working as a Legal Officer in the Criminal Law Practice Division until 1998 when he took up a position with the National Crime Authority. For several years Luke also worked as a senior Legal Officer with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and with the State Ombudsman's Office.

He returned to the Commission in 2006 and since 2011 has worked for the Criminal Law Practice Division as a senior criminal solicitor and Team Leader for the Duty Solicitor Service.

Luke is the first Commission employee to be appointed to the Magistracy since the late Kevin Edgecomb SM was appointed from the Elizabeth Office in 1988. Luke's appointment follows on from the appointment of Judge Paul Muscat SC to the District Court in 2012 and is clearly another example of the high regard in which our lawyers our held.

This well deserved appointment demonstrates the excellence achieved by Luke in his legal career and recognizes the Commission as an employer of quality legal professionals.
