Legal Need in Australia ReportThe Legal Australia-Wide (LAW) Survey: Legal need in Australia, published by the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW, was launched on Thursday, 11 October 2012.
This national research was made possible with the substantial funding support of National Legal Aid. The survey is the largest of its kind ever undertaken and involved more than 20,000 in-depth interviews. It shows that many people are missing out on professional legal help that could resolve their problems because they don’t know what to do, find it too stressful or can’t afford it.
The survey provides the first comprehensive quantitative assessment across Australia of an extensive range of legal needs on a representative sample of the population.
It examines the nature of legal problems, the pathways to their resolution, and the demographic groups that struggle with the weight of their legal problems.
More information about the report, as well as the report itself, can be accessed from the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW.
