Aboriginal Language Interpreting Service (ALIS)

ALIS can provide interpreting services to fully understand Aboriginal speakers in a range of different settings.

These include:

  • in health centres and hospitals
  • when dealing with police
  • in court

ALIS interpreters are highly trained and qualified. ALIS interpreters interpret with context and empathy, while keeping the accuracy of the message.

ALIS can support Aboriginal speakers to become accredited in Aboriginal language interpreting and to work with TAFE SA toward certificates and diplomas in interpreting and translating.
