Opportunity for private individuals to speak to the Senate Committee Inquiry into Centrelink's robo-debt recovery practices

The Senate Community Affairs Reference Committe (the Committee) is about to commence holding public hearings in locations around Australia. During these hearings the committee would like to hear first-hand from people who have experience of Centrelink’s debt recovery process.

The committee plans to allocate time at each of its public hearings for private individuals to make a short statement to the committee about their experiences.

Contacting the Committee

It is important that people who want to speak at a hearing contact the committee prior to the relevant hearing to let them know so they can ensure that the time is allocated fairly and that things run smoothly on the day of the hearing.

Anyone who may like to speak to the committee should ring the committee’s secretariat to find out more information about what is involved and to register to speak. They can either call on (02) 6277 5829 or email community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au.

Further information

Further information about the committee’s inquiry, including the terms of reference, is available on the inquiry website. Information about attending a public hearing is available on the Senate website.
